KING
VINEYARDS
WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
This is a balanced wine with bright flavors of berry, cherry and spice.
A lighter style Zin, its soft tannins and firm acidity play against intense fruit to make it a pleasure to
drink now, and over the next several years.
APPELLATION:
Suisun Valley (Solano County)
Suisun Valley is just beginning to achieve the reputation
it deserves, given its favorable climate and soils and its
superior combination of quality and value.
VINEYARDS:
This is a small hillside vineyard near the Napa County line.
Warm daytime temperatures moderated by cool marine air in
the evenings contribute to complex grape flavors with good
acidity. The clone is from the Summit Lake vineyards on
Howell Mountain.
VINTAGE:
This was the tenth commercial harvest for this vineyard.
The vineyard was picked in three lots, each about ten days apart, to ensure
consistent ripeness and balance. Yields were moderate, under
4 tons per acre.
COMPOSITION:
Zinfandel 99%, Syrah 1%
